Transportation is an integral and highly necessary component, facilitating the utilization of all other services. Due to the lack of available and accessible transportation in Loudoun County, ECHO began transporting individuals to and from their residences and its worksite in 1974 to ensure each individual's opportunity to access their community. Our transportation ensured their access to employment and skills training which promoted deinstitutionalization and enhanced their success in transitioning to community-based vocational and residential options. This proved to be successful in maintaining employment opportunities for individuals served by ECHO.
